Musical Activities for Children with Delayed Speech Development

As a topic of this bachelor thesis, I cover musical activities for children with delayed speech development. In the theoretical part, I focus on the specifics of correct children's speech development,the fundamentals of communicationandspeechand musical educationinthe pre- school age. I study the definitions, ways of diagnosing and the causes for the delayed speech development. The goal of the empirical part was tofindout the best way possible tohelpchildrenwith delayed speech development using musical activities with participation of a speech therapist. Throughout the consultations with the speech therapist, I had a chance to meet children who suffer from delayed speech development. I used vocal games (both previously published and created by me), evaluated the reactions and the degree of development of the children. The empirical part consist od six case studies and records of five meetings. The research is accompaniedby a poll filled out by the parents of the children I met during the research. I also carried out an interview with the speech therapist. The research's findings suggest that the musical activities helpto develop vocabulary and accelerate overall speech development of the childrenwith delayed speech development. Phonemic awareness development of children with developmental speech disorders at logopedic

The topic of the thesis is Phonemic awareness development of children with developmental speech disorders at logopedic nursery school. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part contains three chapters. The first one is dealing with specifics of preschool age. This chapter contains the definition of preschool age, communication, ontogenetical speech development, hearing perception and preschool education. The second chapter is dealing with impaired speech development, particularly with delayed speech development and developmental dysphasia. There is also description of etiological factors, symptoms, diagnostics and therapy. The third chapter is focused on phonological and phonemic awareness. This part mentions diagnostical materials whit which is possible to evaluate phonemic awareness qualities. Then are mentioned materials and activities specified for development of phonemic awareness. The last chapter presents empirical part of the thesis. The main purpose of the research is to analyze possibilities how to evolve phonemic awareness of the children with impaired speech development. Communication of the child with delayed speech development in institucional care

The diploma thesis is focused on the theme of speech therapy. The thesis deals with problems of delayed speech development in pre-school children, especially their vocabulary. The main aim of the thesis is the evaluation of vocabulary as well as evaluation of awareness about possibilities of enrichment and indicative range of evaluation of vocabulary. The main investigation was realized by means of half-structuralized interviews with respondents, who spend the most time and are in the daily contact with evaluated children. Arose findings should help to increase the effectiveness of speech therapy in the field of speech content of children with delayed language development. The output of this thesis is the newly created testing materials that will help assess the indicative range of vocabulary in these children.
Issues of communication disability of children in institutional care

The topic of this bachelor's thesis is an analysis of the communication disabilities of children in institutional care. The first theoretical section covers children's speech development. The second section defines communication disabilities which are specific to the speech development of children who are in institutional care during their critical development period (up to 6 years old). The third section has a theoretical description of the communication disabilities that are experienced most commonly by all pre-school and younger school age children. The practical section aims to identify differences in the speech development of children growing up in institutional care, with the speech development of children growing up in their family's homes. The data for this analysis was compiled using questionnaires. The final section explains speech therapy techniques which parents carry out with their children at home, and care assistants carry out in instructional care facilities.
Late talking child in kindergarten

Bachelor thesis deals with analysis of child education with delayed speech development in kindergarten. The theoretical part describes the factors influencing the speech ontogenesis, the characteristics of the prediction period and stages of speech development, the development of all linguistic levels. Furthermore, Delayed Speech Development is identified from the point of view of etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy. The practical part consists of three case studies of children with delayed speech development in kindergartens. These children have been diagnosed with communication skills, analyzing possible causes of Delayed Speech Development, and the education of children in kindergarten, problems revealed and examples of good practice that have manifested in particular cases.
The Possibilities of Using Musical Activities for Children with Impaired Communication Ability in Kindergarten- in Speech Therapy Class

The bachelor thesis is concerned with communication disorders in preschool aged children and progress their perceptual and motor skills by musical activities. The main aim of the thesis is to create a collection of activities to support the children's skills. The partial aim is to try using the collection in practise during standard kindergarten's operation Theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with speech development, speech disorders, especially dyslalia and delayed speech development. The thesis is also aimed on specifics of preschool age, legislature of preschool education and education of children with special needs. The final chapter writes about musical field and principles of conducting musical activities in kindergarten. To achieve the set target, a qualitative research strategy was chosen. During three weeks of direct observation of preschool group, case studies of the children were created based on the results. The results were used for creating of collection of activities. The created collection was directly applied in practice. The work was evaluated by means of analysis of video recordings, while at the same time were accented its disadvantages and advantages. The collection of activities contains methodical structure, so it can be used in practice of teachers in kindergarten. The material could be appreciated by parents as well and used during practising their children's skills.
To the Issues of Developmental Dysphasia of Primary School Pupils

The diploma thesis deals with developmental dysphasia in pupils at primary school. The thesis is divided into three main parts, theoretical, case report of one boy and finally practical part. The theoretical part deals with the natural development of speech, prolonged period of speechlessness or delayed speech development and the main attention is paid to the developmental defect itself, ie developmental dysphasia. The case report contains a history of a long-term observed boy who has a disturbed speech development since birth, thus making communication difficult with the outside world. In the practical part is created a set of themes, ie different exercises and games for children suffering from a developmental disorder. These games are focused on the development of individual areas that need to be practiced and improved.
The Development of communication skills in children with logopedics defect

This bachelor thesis is focused on speech development in children with developmental dysphasia in pre-school period. In the theoretical part are described the development of speech in the preschool period, factors influencing speech development, impaired communication ability and impaired speech development. The main theme of the theoretical part is developmental dysphasia, its etiology, characteristic features, differential diagnosis and therapies. Further, this part of thesis describes effects of developmental dysphasia on the child, his personality and his family. The practical part of this thesis deals with the assessment of the level of speech skills of seven selected children in the logopedic class of kindergarten. The partial goal of the thesis is mapping of development in other areas (memory, visomotor coordination and visual analysis and synthesis) that are disturbed because of developmental dysphasia. This section is based on four short diagnostic tasks, analysis of children's papers and teacher's diary. The resulting data is recorded in case reports, tables and evaluated in response to research questions.
Complex care for children with developmental dysphasia

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of children with developmental dysphasia. The theoretical part clarifies the basic concepts of the subject, and deals with the exposition of causes and symptoms of developmental dysphasia. Furthermore it clarifies the logopedic intervention in the Czech Republic gives an overview of the complex care of a child with developmental dysphasia, deals with the role of family, kindergarten, special pedagogical centers (SPCs), early care and naturally the work of clinical speech therapists in ensuring the best cooperation in taking care of a child with a specifically disturbed speech development. The objective of the practical part is to determine the level of the mutual cooperation in the care of a child with developmental dysphasia, by interviewing the SPC workers, parents, teachers and the speech therapist. The closing part focuses on the level of kindergarten teachers' awareness of techniques in the care of children with this form of disturbed communication ability.

The thesis finds out how the logopaedic prevention influences the ontogenesis of children´s speech in a common kindergarten. It deals with the influence of the family on children´s speech development. It is focused on the main components of the language in ontogenesis of children´s speech development. It explains the most frequent communicative disabilities at preschool age - delayed speech and dyslalia. It also deals with the role of a kindergarten teacher from the point of view of the development of the child´s communication abilities and the methods of prevention.
